1. What are the four main types of tissue? Epithelial, Connective, Muscle and Nervous 2. Tattoo’s are below what type of tissue in the human body? Is it a good idea to get one? Epidermis Tissue and its not a good idea cuz the link can spread (the tattoo is also permanent and can close opportunities for you in work) 3. What is the difference between tendons and ligaments? The tendons are white bands of connective tissues attaching from skeletal muscle to bone and the ligaments are strong flexible bands of the connective tissue that hold bones firmly together at the joints 4. Compare the 3 types of muscle tissue. Cardiac, smooth & skeletal. Smooth and Skeletal help with movement in the body. Cardiac and Smooth are involutionary. All 3 has to do with movement with body. 5. Name and describe the 10 body systems. Which two provides energy to the 8 body systems? Provide images for each body system. (1) Skeletal system movement of the body attachment of the muscles contains bones, cartilage and ligaments , (2) Muscular system allows movement produces heat contains skeletal muscles, (3) Nervous System controls voluntary activities (brain nerves and spinal cord) , (4) Circulatory system pumps blood maintains blood pressure and transports oxygen, (5) Lymphatic system stimulates the immune response filters and contains lymph vessels and nodes, spleen and thymus , (6) Respiratory system transports and exchanges oxygen and carbon dioxide , (7) Digestive system digests food and removes waste products , (8) Integumentary system provides sensation regulates temperature sense of touch, (9) Urinary System concentrates or eliminates urine and regulates the chemical composition of blood, (10) Endocrine system controls all body functions for example regulates glucose, fluid balance and supports sexual characteris Hormones Circulatory and respiratory provide energy to the 8 body systems 6. Name three diseases associated with the skeletal system, muscular system and nervous system. Skeletal diseases: Rickets, Fracture, Osteomyelitis Muscular diseases: Cerebral Palsy, dermatomyositis, Rhabdomyolysis Nervous diseases: Huntington's, Alzheimer, muscular dystrophy 7. What is the strongest bone in the body? Where are the weakest bones found in the body? The femur is the strongest bone and the weakest bones are in the ears(stapes) 8. How many bones are in the human body? How many bones does a 2 month child have? Why does the baby have more bones? They are 206 bones in the human body. A baby has from 300-350 bones, babies have more bones because most of if its cartilage later on the bones fuse together.
