Basic Information and Notes
 RA 5921 was passed by the Senate on May 22, 1969 and was
signed by President Ferdinand Marcos on June 23, 1969
 This law was later amended by Executive Order no. 174
signed by Corazon C. Aquino on May 22, 1987
 RA 10918 was drafted and went into the process of
becoming state law from July 27, 2015 and was passed into
law on July 21, 2016. This RA was then signed by Benigno
Aquino III
Group Activity!
 The Class will be divided into 5 groups and then document
the following:
 Group 1: Sections/laws in 5921 and 10918 that are the same
 Groups 2 and 3: Sections/laws in 5921 and 10918 that are
different
 This will be split into two more groups and will divide work accordingly
 Group 4: Sections in 5921 that are not found in 10918
 Group 5: Sections in 10918 that are not found in 5921
 The Pharmacy Law (RA 10918) has changed how the
practice of Pharmacy in Philippines should be enacted from
its predecessor (RA 5921).
 There were major differences in how the practice of
pharmacy should proceed in the Philippine Setting
Objectives
 At the end of the activity, the students are expected to:
 Discuss and identify key differences in the old Pharmacy Law
(RA 5921) and the New Pharmacy Law (RA 10918)
 Discuss the evolution of the practice of pharmacy in the
Philippines with respect to legal guidelines
 Identify improvements in the pharmacy law
 Discuss how these improvements impact the professional and
ethical life of pharmacists in the Philippines
Submission
 Students will then group themselves accordingly and should
submit to me via Google classroom the list of their respective
groups.
 Afterward, I will create an assignment catered to your specific
groupings where you can submit the following:
 A written report on your respective topic
 A powerpoint presentation with your topic (to be discussed on the
next meeting)
 Questions specific to your group will be provided for your
discussion
 Please do not forget to follow the format for the reporting
(Introduction, Learning Objectives, Discussion, Answer to
Questions and Conclusions)
