AUTODESK INVENTOR 2015 COURSE 02:

ADVANCED PART MODELING AND REUSING PARTS AND COMPONENTS

Prepared by Šerer N. – Mechanical Design Engineer & Autodesk Inventor Certified Instructor

Course summary:
This course teaches users the higher level of productivity when designing part models using Autodesk Inventor.
Participants learn specific advance part modeling techniques covered include creating multi-body design, lofts, sweeps,
coils and surface modeling techniques. Additional topics at increasing efficiency includes iFeatures for frequently needed
design elements and iParts for similar designs.
Under guidelines of Autodesk Certified Instructors, participants also work on practical exercises based from real-world
industry samples.
Course duration: 3 days (?)
Courses Prerequisites:
It is recommended that participants in this course have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8.1,
Microsoft MS Office (Word, Excel) and working knowledge of mechanical design principles.
Who should attend?
Experienced Inventor users looking to expand their working knowledge with advanced part modeling. Participants should
have a good working experience in Inventor basic modeling techniques.

Inventor training Skill exercises (home) instructions:

Based on provided reference files first create fully constrained sketches and then 3D models and drawings of the same.
This exercises are designed for training advanced part modeling features.
Except where otherwise noted, after finishing the exercises save all exercises with suffix “done” and send original Inventor
files. Send zipped files for review in folders named same as done chapter.

Instructions for Skill Exercise 8-1 and Exercise 8-2 (iParts):

First create basic 3D model of part and then using iParts feature create variants of the same. Define dimensions using
variables and terms.
Instructions for Exercise 8-3 and Exercise 8-4 (iFeatures):
First create basic 3D model of part and then using iFeature tool create variants of the same. Define dimensions using
variables and terms in iFeature Author window. For review send 3D files as Inventor original part file (ipt).
