EFFICACY HEALTH CENTER

Introduction

Federal funded health centers were created to benefit vulnerable groups by increasing access to

quality health and consequently resulting in better health outcomes. Various studies indicate

health centers have so far been successful in improving access, quality, and outcomes of health

to vulnerable groups (HRSA, n.d., Goldman, 2012; Leiyu, 2012).

HRSA (2012) report to congress indicates the health centers are providing easy access to quality

health care due to the support they receive from HRSA and various other sources. They have

provided enhanced access by expanding the services they offer and center locations. Some of the

services health centers have expanded to include mental health, oral health, substance abuse, and

pharmacy services. In addition, health centers are adopting non-traditional means of serving

vulnerable groups, a good example being telehealth programs. Goldman (2012), also established

that federal funded health centre a more willing to accommodate Medicaid and uninsured patient

than other types of private based health centers.

In terms of quality, various studies (HRSA, n.d.; Leiyu, 2012) established that federal funded

health centre provide equal or better health care than private based health centers. Despite low

income and general vulnerability, patient visit most health center can be assured of receiving

high quality pharmacologic management services of chronic diseases, high quality screening,

counseling and generally various other ambulatory care quality services.

Due to increase access and quality health care services provided by the Health centers,

vulnerable groups have a high chance of enjoying improved health outcomes. In addition,

vulnerable group receive quality care at a significantly lower costs. According to Leiyu (2012),

Health centers have also reduced disparities in health care provision.

EFFICACY HEALTH CENTER

To overcome the various challenges that they face, Health center should establish new centers

close to vulnerable groups. They should also collaborate with other non-federal funded HC to

receive referral of patients who fit their profile. Lastly, they should adopt latest technology in the

medical professional that will improve their ability to serve customers.
