Goals for the 2018 School Year
How Will We Get There?
Reading:

● New Reading Curriculum - Lucy Calkins

● 95% - Fluency Routine for Upper Grades
● Systematic Phonics Instruction

Math:

● Interventions and a Math “Toolbox”

Behavior:

● Continued teaching and re-teaching of building expectations

● Leader in Me - learning begins next year
Changes for Secondary Audience (Staff)
● Purpose would change from informational (community group) to
motivational (staff)
● Move the 2018 goals and “How Will We Get There?” slide to the beginning.
This sets the stage for our work this year.
● School data can be broken (disaggregated) down further (teacher, specific
tests, subgroups, etc.) and shared with teachers. It may not need to be
included in the presentation, but time should be made for them to review
it.
● At the end of the presentation, review the two slides above and have
teachers and staff members think about how their goals for the upcoming
year can fit into our school goals
