ANPS Leadership Forum

“Professional Growth for Continuous School Improvement”
19 - 21 October 2018 at Mercure Bali Nusa Dua

This is a call for educational leaders that are knowledgeable and passionate who are willing
to share their knowledge, skill sets and experience with fellow educators in order to help
them grow and explore new ideas. The sharing of best practice is incredibly valuable and
helps improve quality education the world over.

Please submit a presentation proposal if you have a valuable idea linked to how we can
support educator growth and continually improve for the betterment of the school as a whole.

This year’s theme focuses on helping educators and educational leaders to upskill and pass
on knowledge that will help ensure their schools continued success. Our aim is to deliver
dynamic workshops that encourage active participation in discussions and activities. Through
these discussions and activities, we hope that new ideas are shared and implemented in
many schools across Indonesia.

Sharing resources with participants is encouraged and the use of handouts and or links will
allow educators to share ideas with their colleagues more easily when they return to their
respective schools. Allowing workshop participants to design resources that could help with
practically implementation of ideas or sharing tools which have allowed your school to
implement the core ideas of your session would also be beneficial for the practitioners in
your session.

Successful workshops will be based not just upon quality of proposal but also the variety of
sessions offered.

The conference description below will act as a guide and provide inspiration for related
workshops you may like to present.

About the Forum

The ANPS has a well-deserved reputation of providing high quality leadership training for
SPK schools. This is the Fifteenth Annual ANPS Leadership forum, and we aim to ensure
that this is a transformative learning experience for all participating school leaders.

Our theme for the forum is; “Professional Growth for Continuous School Improvement”. This
means that this year’s forum will include a variety of sessions centered around educational
development and ideas for school improvement.

Sessions should be designed to leave the participants with practical strategies that they can
use to transform their schools from good to great through the use of fresh educational

approaches and best practice.

As is the case every year, besides the formal workshops and sessions, there will also be
informal opportunities to share ideas and expand your professional network as a school
leader in Indonesia; a network that will prove invaluable when sharing ideas and advice on
aspects such as staffing challenges, drafting a school improvement plan, or implementing
new government regulations.

This forum aims to help you as a leader to bring your school to the top, to new levels of
excellence.

Paul McCartney, Matt Groening, Richard Branson,
Arianna Huffington, and Bart Conner, These are
some of the lucky people that have found their
elements, their natural talent. Just like in Sir Ken
Robinson’s famous book ‘The Element’, these
people suffered judgmental during their school years
just because they are different from the rest and that
their school couldn’t discover their true potential and
better yet encourage them to be different, because
let’s admit it what’s the point of living if you are
forced to be the same just like everybody else (e.g.
standardized test). I believe there is a better way in
this new millenials era, a better system to treat our
children fairly, history has proven that a system that
values obedience over curiosity is not education and
it definitely is not science.

An education practitioner who has found the truth
about true learning the hard way. He went to
experienced 5 majors (Netherlands literature,
accounting, entrepreneurship, information system, and
medical) in college just because he was hungry for
knowledge and the world just happened to have limits
on how many lessons you can take in a given time.
