contribution in the study for allowing us to interviews to them and have a background to

them, to Khishna V. Buenaventura who is acting Provincial Planning and Development

Coordination for indorsing our study, to our classmates who is shearing their knowledge

to us, to our families, Cantillon family and Gabriel family who constantly supporting and

praying for us, to our advisers Ar. Garry M. Advento and Ar.Arlen M. Guieb, for their

guidance, imputes throughout our study and their patience to us. This endeavor would not

have been possible in the absence of the above mentions individuals.

Notes
The design of the expansion of TPJ is not to give the inmates an expensive life style

but to conform to the standard and suggested guidelines to design a Provincial Jail, a decent

life to the inmates to conform to human rights and help them to rehabilitate while in their

individual sentence or while waiting for a trial in the TPJ so they can be lead useful and

“A Proposed Expansion of Tarlac Provincial Jail”

II. Abstract

This study aimed to design an expansion of Provincial Jail Building for the Tarlac

Provincial Jail (TPJ). The existing accommodation building was design only to

accommodate a maximum of four hundred (400) inmates but us of September 25, 2017 the

number of inmates was extremely goes up that leads to a common problems that greatly

affect the inmates. The new building is envision to cater the TPJ increasing population,

gives inmates a decent life in their individual sentence or while waiting for their trial in the

TPJ, and the emerging new facilities to help inmates to rehabilitate so that they can lead

useful and purposeful lives while in the TPJ and upon release. The objective of the study

is to come up with a design solution to diffuse the population density of TPJ by designing

a new building that serve as an expansion. The necessary information and data about the

TPJ were obtained by means of site walkthroughs, interviews by the warden, staffs and

inmates. The desire outcome for this study is a master plan that would not only conform to

standard but also to the standards dictated by the end users.
