High Performance training

The training will start on the 8th October and end on the 11th November, this will amount to
5 weeks of training and there are 4 sessions per week. The sessions will be as follows:

15:00 - 16:15 HP Training Girls
16:00 - 17:30 HP Training Boys
Wednesday
15:00 - 16:15 HP Training Girls
16:00 - 17:30 HP Training Boys
Thursday

17:00 - HP Skills Coaching session ( Drag flicks,
18:00 slapping, hitting, ETC)
Friday

16:30 - 17:30 Hockey Master Class

The cost of these 5 weeks will be R500, this works out to R100 per week and R25 per
session.

HP Training:

This will be team based tactics where we work on skills such as pressing and how to apply
the various presses. This will be helped by having them build a practical and theoretical
knowledge of the game. This will be done by using whiteboard sessions, video sessions as
well as on field training sessions.

HP Skills coaching:

This is a session for working on individual skills such as 3D skills, hitting, slapping,
pushing, flicking, drag flicking. We will make use of video analysis and other training
equipment in order to strengthen the players physically as well as technically.
Master class:

We will get in SA or WP players to do specific trainings focusing on Strikers, midfielders

or defenders.
Understanding all the positions will make players more complete.

Goalies:

The Goalies will have their own HP Session on a Friday evening at 18h00 – 19h00 and this
will be run by me and is free of charge to all HSD Goalies.

Internal 5s:

Teams will consist of 5 players on the field at all times.

You will also need to have the following minimum in each team:
1 u19
2 u16
1 u14
1 netball player (Girls) or 1 Rugby Player (Boys)
1 Learner that is not playing sport
2 players from any grade after that

Maximum team size of 8 players.

Games will be 20min one way. The netball or rugby player must be on the field at all times.
Goals will only be awarded with a celebration.

Cost will be R450 per team.

Teams will be told what colour they are and they are responsible for the following:
Team kit
Organizing of sticks and shin guards for everyone in their team
They can have their own team flag
They must supply us with a team song/Anthem

Parents social hockey

We will have a parents social game every Thursday evening at 18h00 – 19h00 and this will
cost R100 per parent for the term. We will teach parents the game and update their
knowledge of the rules by letting them play. This is good for a little bit of exercise. We will
end off with a braai at the end of the 5 weeks.

New Durbies:

All the grade 7 learners that have been accepted to Durbanville high will be coming to a
weekly training that starts on the 14 September in order to get to know them and to build
the excitement for playing for Durbanville high.
