At the end of the lesson, some pupils will be able to describe the colours of the animals using language focus

1. Show a colour flashcard. (e.g. green)
I. PRE-LESSON 2. Pupils name any green colour animals that they know. (e.g. iguana, parrot)
3. Repeat with other colours.
1. Use flashcards to review animals vocabulary. (SB page 79)
2. Get the pupils to describe the colour of the animals.
3. Write focus language on the board.

4. Practise the language with the class.
5. Demonstrate the activity.
6. Distribute question card templates to pupils.
II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
7. Then, pupils draw and colour the animals.
8. Have pupils write some questions for their partner. They could write 2-5 questions,
depending on their proficiency. (according to their pictures).
9. Pupils exchange their questions with their partner and write the answers.
10. Pupils then check each other’s work.
11. They give their partner a point for each correct sentence.
12. Monitor and help as and when necessary.
1. Write or draw various words/objects on the board.
III. POST LESSON 2. Give pupils 1-2 minutes to memorize them all, then erase them and ask them to call out
what they remember (or write them down).
