Speechline Digital Wireless at the Emirates Airline

Festival of Literature
DUBAI: db, a leading AV-rental company in Dubai,
recently upgraded its microphone inventory with the latest
Speechline Digital Wireless microphone systems from
Sennheiser. Selected for its rich feature set, unmatched
speech intelligibility, and aesthetic appeal, the new system
is being positioned by the rental firm as the solution of
choice for blue chip corporate events and conferences.

Following delivery of the new system and after receiving

comprehensive training, 3db leveraged its new Speechline
Digital Wireless audio system for the Emirates Airline
Festival of Literature (EAFOL), for which speech intelligibility
was paramount. The setup would have required over 60
channels of traditional analogue systems which would
have been problematic given the close proximity of the
conference halls. However, using the new system, 3db
managed to reduce the RF count by 40% which reduced
the risk of RF interference.

Pre-production planning and live analysis were also key

to the success of the event. As the EAFOL was the first
major Speechline Digital Wireless project in the region,
Sennheiser’s local team supported 3db throughout
pre-production and the event itself. “The project was a
resounding success for 3db as a number of users praised
the ease of use, ergonomics and style of the SL range,” said
James Ghamlouch, Head of Audio at 3db.

Over the duration of a 14-year long partnership, 3db and

Sennheiser have enjoyed a number of successes. “The
collaboration and assistance we have had from 3db will
ensure that the Speechline Digital Wireless product range
gets rolled out and progresses to become not just the
only wireless microphone system dedicated to speech
but the most successful one as well. We are very grateful
to the whole 3db team for their commitment to this new
product range and we look forward to continuing our close
relationship with them,” said Ryan Burr, Technical Sales
Manager at Sennheiser Middle East.
