TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL POWER CABLES

Flame Retardant Low Smoke (FR-LS) PVC insulated, PVC outer sheathed, multi core, multi strand copper
conductor cables of voltage grade 1100 Volts conforming to IS 694 – 1990.

(III) Testing:
: Electrolytic grade Copper with 99.99% Purity & Shall conform to
IS 8130
: Flame Retardant Low Smoke PVC insulation with PVC outer sheathed
: More than 29% and the wire shall meet the specification
given in ASTM - D2863
: More than 300° C and the wire shall meet the
specification given in ASTM - D 2863 & BICC Hand
book Chp.No.6
: Cables shall conform to IS 694-1990
: ISI/ISO 9002 Certified cables are preferred
: Anchor/Finolex/Polycab/Mescab/Havells or Equivalent make

Acceptance test: All the tests specified below shall be carried out in accordance with the Indian
Standard (IS) 694 - 1990 by the supplier in the presence of purchaser’s representative.

(i) Insulation Resistance Test

(ii) High Voltage Test
(iii) Test for thickness of insulation & sheath
(iv) Conductor Resistance Test

Note:
1. Detailed technical specification/ catalogues shall be enclosed along with the offer .
2. Make of the cables shall be clearly specified in the offer.
3. Cables without ISI certificate will not be accepted.
4. Cables with ISO Certificate will be preferred.
5. Make, size, Voltage grade, Cable type and ISI mark shall be printed on the cable through-out the
length.
