POVERTY IN MIDDLE GEORGIA

The following information from census.gov, 2012-2016 American Survey 5-Year Estimate demonstrates
the level of poverty in each of the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank’s 24 county service area. This
poverty table is especially high as compared to United States and the state of Georgia averages. Child
hunger between the ages of Birth to 5 years of age is astounding. The Middle Georgia Community Food
Bank is dedicated and driven by our mission to help those children, working poor, seniors and
individuals at risk of hunger.
