MEASUREMENTS OF THE ATTENUATION FACTOR

PARAMETERS, FREQUENCY INPUT IMPEDANCE, AND SIGNAL
DEFLATION.

Group:

Date: 02/03/17
Objective: The objective is to display a signal under the effect of a signal attenuator
circuit with which different phenomena are observed in the input signal with respect
to the output signal and with the frequency variation.

These phenomena are: attenuation of the input signal, input impedance and the
offset of the output signal with respect to the input signal.

Introduction: A signal attenuating circuit or filter is that arrangement of resistors,

capacitors and / or coils has an input and an output, finding in its output a signal
similar to the input signal but attenuated to a greater or lesser extent according to
the frequency of the input signal.

For the first part of this practice we use the following circuit

On the input CH1 we put a signal generted by a function generator whith the next
values on the table.

F(Hz) V. I. V. O.
10 8.88 V 1V
20 9.68 V 1.1 V
30 10 V 1.21 V
40 10 V 1.2 V
80 10.5 V 1.3 V
100 10.6 V 1.68 V
200 10.2 V 3.92 V
600 10 V 5.5 V
1000 10 V 8.48 V
3000 9.84 V 8.8 V
5000 9.60 V 9.2 V
10000 9.80 V 9.6 V
20000 9.80 V 9.6 V
40000 9.80 V 9.6 V
80000 9.80 V 9.6 V
100000 9.80 V 9.8 V

The functions on early meassurements.

The last values of the functions(10 Khz)

We can see on the results of increasing the frecuency, that the output voltaje it’s
increasing gradually and to the high frecuencies we get a simillar output voltaje
versus the input voltaje.

This meassures let us see how this circuit Works with the same voltaje but a
change in the frecuency.

Fort he second part of this practice we put a potentiometer on the input. The
reason is that we will use this potentiometer to get an amplitude equal to the
function from the functions generator.
This will generate a diferent input impedance on the potentiometer and that´s the
meassure that we want find on the different variation on the frecuencies.

As we can see on the next table obtained from the meassurements of the
impedance of the potentiometer, this value increase on each increase on the
frecuency.

This means that the input impedance have to increase its value to can equal the
amplitude on the output signal.

Fort he last part of the practice we use the first circuit, but now the observation that
we do is on how the input function and the output function are different talking
about a displacement on the time line.

Functions mismatch
Conclusions:

Anahi Galindo Sánchez

As we could see on the osciloscope, the functions react different with the variations
on the frecuency and being passed by a circuit that change their properties.

This means that we can use certain kind of circuits to manipulate the input signals
and use them toour benefit.

Fernando Arceta Tores

This practice let me interact with the properties of a function that is common on our
lifes, but with diferents values on the frecuency that they act.

I could see how the functions can change on the time domain, and know diferent
behaviours with the same circuit.
