Rule 1: Keep it concise
➔ Use bullets

➔ Don’t put a million words on slide

➔ Make text easy to understand


Rule 2: Font and Style
➔ Make font easy to read
◆ Don’t make font color similar to background
◆ Use traditional font styles:
● Times New Roman
● Calibri
● Lato
➔ Underline / Bold important words/phrases
Rule 3: Do not read from screen
➔ Need to project voice→ cannot face board, face class

➔ Elaborate on the bullets to add context

Rule 4: Use Pictures
➔ Helpful in providing context
◆ Ex: Giving a lesson on oceans to students who live in Nebraska→
add images so they know what you’re talking about
