 Why this project was more
appropriate?
Because this project provides
women/homeworkers the alternative
ways for:
1. Decreasing their families’
expenditure on by producing the
detergent (for clothes and dishes)
since they are able to produce them
from EM.

communities since it can be used
for producing EM. (Usually BMA
collects garbage in the community
once a week so the wet garbage
became putrefy).

Some concrete figures
♥ Women homeworkers are able to
save at least 300 baht (USD 75) per
family per month.
♥ 50% of the retail price is the profit.

But…at least
• Women homeworkers can produce for
their families, which help them to decrease
their expenditure so some of them do not
plan to do as their business.
• Wet garbage in their household and
community is decreased >> decrease bad
smell of putresible gabage.

Marketing on EM and EM products
might be a problem

► Miss-understanding on EM and

• Through this project, women homeworkers
have learnt about the profit of wet
garbage.
• This project opens for both men and
women to join the project activities. There
is no gender bias.
• The attendants were encouraged to
realize on solid waste problem and
community environment problem as well.
• The attendants have learnt how to be a
part of urban solid waste management.

Recommendation
• Gender mind has to be existed in every
urban environment management project
• UEM Project should be more expanded to
several community especially to low-
income communities.
• Laws related to the UEM have to be
brought in practice.
