Title Of Lesson: Angles Approximate Duration: (2) 45 minute sessions
Overview of Lesson (Danielson, 1c)
Explore the types of angles in our Angles Lesson Plan. This fun, hands-on lesson introduces
the types of angles and how to use a protractor to measure and draw angles. Upon
completing this lesson, students will be able to identify types of angles, define angles and
related terms, and correctly use a protractor. Leverage peer learning as students exchange
their work with a partner for correcting, and generalize understanding as students search for
real-world examples of angles in their environment.
Prior Knowledge Expected of Students
The students will already be familiar with basic shapes and terms in reference to size of
shapes (acute, obtuse, etc.)

Relevance / Rationale
The outcomes of the ability to determine angles will benefit to determination of direction, size,
and placement of objects in the real world.
Exploration / Extension / Supplemental
Students can draw their own shapes and record the angles on each corner that they may
have.
Assessment Criteria For Success
Guided and paired practice/individual practice/informal assessment
Differentiation (Danielson, 1c, 3e )
Protractors and promethean board activities will be available for practice for those that can
complete the assignment on their own or with the assistance of the technology to correct.
