About the Author:

Kalidasa (4th – 5th Century A.D)

-Is regarded as the greatest dramatist and poet of India. He is

also regarded as the greatest figure in classical Sanskrit
literature. Stories about his life are not known although lots of
myths have been told about his existence. It is believed that
Uttarakhand, Himalay Garhwal, is the birthplace of Kalidasa.
Three of his great plays include Shakuntala, Vikramorvasi
