Veteran defensive coordinator and Ohio native Luke Fickell was
named the University of Cincinnati’s 42nd football head coach
in December 2016.

The 18-year veteran of the FBS coaching ranks took the reins
of the UC program after spending 15 years at his alma mater,
Ohio State.

Fickell was hired on Dec. 10, 2016 and in the span of less than
eight weeks, he hired a staff and put one of the top recruiting
classes in the American Athletic Conference together. Since

Brady Collins came to UC after spending the two seasons at Ohio State as a strength coach
with the football team. A 2009 graduate of Otterbein, Collins went south after graduation
to become a volunteer strength coach at Kentucky and intern for the Cincinnati Bengals.
He became a graduate assistant coach at Kentucky in 2010 and a year later was named an
assistant strength coach. In 2013, he accepted an assistant strength and conditioning position
at Mississippi State before he was hired at Ohio State in 2015. Collins and his wife, Allie, are the
