This newsletter will provide you with information to ensure that you are successful in my class. I’m looking forward
to interact with you as together we explore the Spanish language and culture.

CELL PHONE POLICY
 Cell phones and all other
electronic devices will be
allowed only at teacher’s
discretion for educational
purposes only.
 Students are expected to be in
their seat ready to work when
the bell rings.
 Students will be marked absent
if they are 10 or more minutes
late to class.
 The attendance office will write
a referral starting at 5 tardies.
 Excessive Tardies and Absences
will disqualify a student from
Exam Exemption(s).
FOOD & DRINKS IN CLASS
 Only WATER and
snacks!
 You need teacher approval and
a PASS to leave the classroom.
 Students may not leave class
during the first and last 10
minutes of each period.
 You are required to carry the
bathroom pass when leaving
the room.

in class!

MAKE-UP WORK
 Due to the nature of this class,
daily attendance is crucial. If
you are absent, it is your
responsibility to get make-up
work and to turn it in on time.
 Late work includes any
assignment in any category.
Students have one block day
past the assigned deadline to
turn in for a late grade up to a
70. After this, a student may
turn in the work for a maximum
of a 50, up until the Wednesday
before the progress reporting
deadline if it was due within the
first three weeks of the six
weeks. If the assignment is due
in the latter half of the marking
period the student may turn in
the assignment until the
Wednesday before the six-
weeks reporting deadline. No
late work is eligible for a redo.
 There’s no Extra Credit in my
class.
GRADING SYSTEM
 On level:
– Performance: 30%
– Summative: 25%
– Formative: 25%
– Daily Grades: 20%
 AP Spa. Lit. Grade Break-down
– Major Grades: 50%
– Minor Grades: 40%
– Daily Grades: 10%
*Major Grades consist
