1. 5 problem statements presentations from IC2MAM
2. Analyse at least 10 definition of research
3. Analyse at least 5 scientific methods of research
4. Please write master research title
Discussion
1. 5 problem statements presentations from IC2MAM
I will explain problem statements from keynote speakers:
1. Prof. Takayuki Ishida
The title from this keynote speakers is “Moving Moleccules in Crystalline Solids: Gradual
Structure Transition and Spin Transition/Crossover”
The purpose of this study is to identify spin phenomena like transition and crossover on
crystalline solids. Learn about spin with three example that is 2p spin, 3d-2p heterospin,
and 3d iron spin crossover.
2. Prof. Hadi Nur
The title from this is “Structure Activity Relationship of Shape Controlled Titania
Photocatalyst”
The purpose of this study is to explain mechanism about titania photocatalyst and how
catalysis shape is important to catalytic activity.
3. Prof. Worawat Meevasan
The title from this is “Exploration of Quantum States and Electronic Structures in Advance
Materials”
The purpose of this study is to identify electronic structure (crystal and electronic) of
advanced materials like transition-metal dichalcogenides, transition-metal oxides and
carbon-based material.
4. Prof. Khairurijjal
The title from this is “Doing R&D Nanofibrous Membranes for Water Filtration: From
Electrospinning Process to Filtration Test”
The purpose of this study is to identify water filtration performances of the nanofibrous
membranes and doing an experiment to prove how it work with apple juice.
5. Prof. Ariando
The title from this is “Interface-Engineering and Emergent Phenomena in Oxide
Heterostuctures”
The purpose of this study is to identify and explain interface-engineering as a device.
Explain how to automatically controlled oxide interfaces pulsed laser deposition with
RHEED controlled.
2. Analyse at least 10 definiton of research
1. Research is all about addressing an issue os asking and answering a question or solving
problem. (Hopkins, WG. 2002. Dimensions of Research. Sportsscience 6, sportsci.org)
2. Research is conducted for the purpose of contributing towards science by the systematic
collection, interpretation and evaluation of data. (Ozhan, et al. 2016. What is Scientific
Research and How Can it be Done. Turk J Anaesthesiol Reanim 2016; 44: 212-8. Turkey).
3. Research is interpretive, and we face a multiplicity of methods that are suitable for different
kinds of understandings (Johnson. 2007. Toward a Definiton of Mixed Methods Research.
Journal of Mixed Methods Research 1, 112-133. Sage Publications Alabama).
4. Research is defined as research directed toward increases in knowledge or understanding
of the fundamental aspects of phenomena and of observable facts without specific
application toward processes or products in mind (Hood. 2003. Scientific Research and
Evidence – Based Practice. Wested.org).
5. Research means research that involves the application of rigorous, systematic, and
objective procedures to obtain reliable and valid knowledge relevant to education activities
and programs (Hood. 2003. Scientific Research and Evidence – Based Practice.
Wested.org).
6. Research is a logical and systematic search for new and useful information on a particular
topic (Rajasekar, et al. 2013. Research Methodology. Bharathidasan University India).
7. Research is ubiquitous, done with the help of study, experiment, observation, analysis,
comparison and reasoning (Rajasekar, et al. 2013. Research Methodology. Bharathidasan
University India).
8. Research is scientific or critical investigation aimed at discovering and interpreting facts
(Glazunov, M. N. 2012. Foundations of Scientific Research. National Aviation University).
9. Research is merely a word use to express the activity of evaluating an idea or product in an
organized manner (Malone W. 1993. Research Definition and Location of Research: A
User’s View. International Journal of Mass Emergencies and Disasters 63-74. Texas).
10. Research is a very general term for an activity that involves finding out, in a more or less
systematic way, it is about advancing the frontiers of knowledge (Walliman, N. 2011.
Research Methods The Basics. New York: Rouledge Press.)
