HAMRA
ABU DHABI
HOTEL
ST REGIS AL
THE PROJECT
The St Regis Abu Dhabi, the third
of its brand to open in the Middle
East, aims to “offer bespoke luxury
with exceptional Arabian hospital-
ity”. Interiors reflecting colours
of local sands and a tribute to the
area’s Art Deco past are all part of
the overall design which includes
283 guest rooms and the Abu Dhabi
Sky Suite – positioned 200m above
the ground and between two towers
- the highest suspended hotel suite
anywhere in the world. It has three
bedrooms, private elevator access,
a spa, a movie theatre, dining room
and private gymnasium.
THE CONCEPT
The hotel was designed to incorporate the very best features traditionally associated with the local area. These
include the use of architecture from the 1920s which was strongly influenced by the stylistic Art Deco movement of the
period. Traditional colours and textures were also included in the design as far as possible with an emphasis on the natu-
ral environment. As well as the Sky Suite the hotel also includes a number of other notable firsts for the area .
THE DETAILS
There are eight different culinary venues available to guests and visitors including Rhodes 44 – the first restaurant in
the emirate by Michelin-starred chef Gary Rhodes. Also on site is the St Regis Bar which follows in the tradition of the
very first venture by the brand, which opened its doors in New York more than a century ago. Another dining venue is the
Villa Toscana which serves regional specialties from the Italian regions of Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna.
