to talk about the effect of the time spent playing video games and the result of that very
number. I see that the author mainly focused on showing a lot of data and to back it up
with information and what it all meant saying how a certain average of children would
not be affected by playing in a particular time period. What I found from the article is that
it gives me information on different types of games and the effect of each and it tells how
each has its own consequences. Using this article will definitely help with the video game
affect on children’s mental health of the essay I will eventually write. Having so much
data on so many different aspects of playing video games based on hours and type of
game this will be a major role in my essay.

the metal health in children and adolescents based on their use of the internet and video
games. It goes into detail of how kids these days have always had internet access since they
were born and use it for around eight hours per week. Going further on into the article is tells
of all the mental health issues that have spurred about because of the use of the internet and

playing games. Which will help when I write about the effects of the internet and video
games on children’s mental health. I found that the author mainly used statistics in the article
that were based on how many people were affected by an issue or on what percentage child
would undergo internet addiction.

Kovess-Masfety, V., Keyes, K., Hamilton, A. “Is time spent playing video games associated with
mental health, cognitive and social skills in young children?”.et al. Soc Psychiatry Psychiatr

Accessed 17 Sept. 2018. This article talks about video games and its link to mental health
issues in children. With the use of graphs of data it is easily understood that younger child
often have a much more higher percentage spent playing videos games than any other age
group that was studied according to the article. The author definelt went to every length to
get all of this information on the each age group and can be said that video games both have
a positive and negative effect on children. I can see how spending so many hours on the
week playing video gaming is bad especially if it means falling behind in school and not
interacting with others. However it does tell how beneficial playing video games can be
teaching puzzle solving skills and how to communicate with others to complete a task.
Which is why this is perfect to discuss the good side of playing video games on a child
mental health.
