CHAD
GRIDER
I am a native of Bakersfield,
CA who attended West High
School, Bakersfield College and then transferred
with a football scholarship to Sacramento State. I
was an assistant at Bakersfield College from ‘00-’04
under my father, head coach Dallas Grider. I became
head coach at West High School for 4 years and had
a record of 17-26-1. I decided to go back to college
rank as an assistant, in which Renegades won 2012
State Championship. Last year I was defensive coor-
dinator for a long time friend, Chris Bandy at Frontier
High School. I was honored to accept the position of
head coach at East High School for the 2018 season.

I started as the QBs coach

at Independence in 2015 &

2016. In January of 2017,

I started as a special teams assistant for the Univer-
sity of Utah football. For a year and a half I ran all
things special teams, including scout teams,
meetings, drills and scouting reports.

My coaching philosophy revolves around team

and individual accountability, mental and physical

toughness, respect and attention to detail. I want

my teams to be the best prepared, both physically
and mentally. If they are we will be successful.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but football has been

under siege of late. The NFL and the concerns of brain
damage (CTE) from repeated concussions, has had a
trickle-down effect, all the way to our youth level.
Is football safe for our kids? Ron White, executive director of

thoughts as they embark on the 2018 season.
