This weekly e-mail highlights interesting internship opportunities and other important information that will
aid you in securing an internship! The internships listed below are just a sampling of what is available. For

IT’S INTERNSHIP WEEK! ONLY ONE DAY LEFT!


Come listen to panelists from a variety of industries sharing information you need to know! Employers
will share their industry insight with a focus on internships and career advice, followed by a session in
which you are welcome to network and distribute your resume to employers. Internship Week will be

DO YOU WANT TO BE A GLOBAL FELLOW?


If so, attend an information session to find out more about the program and hear from some of the 2010
Global Fellows. The Global Fellows Information Session will be held on October 13th, 18th and 26th, 12-
1pm in STU B3. Applications are available now.

The Global Fellows Internship Program encourages exploration of international work experience. This
is a competitive internship program that provides selected students with international internship
experience in Asia. The program is open to U.S. citizens of all majors and provides stipends for USC
undergraduates (freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors graduating in December) to live and work in
Asia for eight weeks during the summer.

During the academic semesters, we invite employers to conduct company presentations. We strongly
recommend that you attend these information sessions to learn about different industries and
organizations, as well as meet some of their key employees. Over the next week Hitachi Consulting,

The Internship Programs Office has daily walk-in hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00am-3:30pm.

 Intern Sushi – Intern
An Internet startup in the job-related/social networking space, co-founded by a top film & television
producer, is looking to hire a rockstar paid intern to help us launch our company. Should the intern
prove his or her self, this is a position with room for growth into various areas of the company
(marketing, business development, production coordinating, sales, etc.). The ideal candidate is
interested in entrepreneurship, business, marketing, social media and entertainment. They are web
savvy, creative, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, relaxed, a self-starter, have a fun personality, a strong
sense of humor, and are willing to work hard at all times. Duties will include everything from
organizing and building presentations, contributing to product development, program creation,

 PopSugar Studios & TV – Social Marketing Intern


Sugar Inc. is seeking a well-qualified college graduate with a strong knowledge of how to maintain
and grow a social media presence across a broad array of online networks and technologies. The ideal
candidate will be well-versed in various social media sites including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter,
Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and more, and have experience effectively executing social media
strategy. Leading online network that develops, produces, and distributes branded online video
content, television, and film is looking for motivated social media guru to help advance online
awareness of our content and social media presence. A familiarity with online video is a big plus.
Intern will update and maintain content and outreach efforts on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and
beyond on a daily basis. Work to help shape compelling viral campaigns to drive traffic and views.
Effectively build external relationships to leverage through social networking. Help research and
propose new social media strategy and technologies. Become familiar with analytics tools to measure

 Larta Institute – Programs Intern (2 Openings)


Larta Institute is seeking a highly-motivated self-starter with exceptional multitasking skills, and
interest in an entrepreneurial environment. The programs intern must possess excellent quantitative,
analytical, verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Hourly pay range: $11.00 – 12.00
per hour depending on education and experience. Interns provide assistance to Larta's Program
Departments. Interns assist in all aspects of program planning, development and delivery. Day to day
activities include, timeline preparation, visual aid materials design and preparation, database
management, event management, communications with vendors, sponsors and clients. Interns will
also collaborate in developing and marketing the organization's signature events, The Venture Forum
(www.theventureforum.com ), and the Ag Innovation Showcase (www.agshowcase.com ), as well as
the organization's programs for the National Institutes of Health (http://nihcap.larta.org) and the US

Candidates’ majors and interests must align with the organizational mission, vision and culture to

advanced Excel knowledge is essential. Experience working with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe
Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator a plus. Applicants should be organized and interested in project
management and operations, as well as have the ability to work with others yet motivated to work

involved in law and financial services, and gain crucial professional skills in decision making, critical
thinking, as well as gaining increased confidence and self-esteem. Our firm also stands to benefit

assigned to include retain, process and maintain client files (according to firm policies) and assure
completeness of files and paperwork. Provide general administrative support. Provide basic research
for staff. Assist staff with database maintenance and software troubleshooting. Assist with projects;
help prepare publications, promotional materials, and various reports. Provide customer service and

 DIRECTV – Information Technology Intern (Undergrads Only)


The IT Outsourced Development team is responsible for vendor management and governance for
DIRECTV’s IT Solutions Delivery Department. This internship offers the opportunity for a student to
help push DIRECTV IT’s management of outsourced software development forward into the future!
IT Outsourcing continues to be a significant growth area to provide cost optimization as well as
scalability and flexibility in software solutions delivery. As an intern, you will gain a wealth of hands-
on experience from interacting with onshore and offshore solution providers as well as IT leadership.
Intern will actively participate in real-world problem solving using today’s most critical sourcing
topics and trends. You will create and implement templates, toolkits, knowledge bases, and processes
for standardizing vendor management and governance based on cutting edge trends, published
research, and industry best practices. You will develop formal processes and Microsoft Office-based
templates and tools to standardize the new outsourcing vendor management program. As an intern,
you will create IT Outsourcing knowledge base in Microsoft SharePoint as a service to the entire IT
Department. You will be able to research best practices for IT Outsourcing (e.g., Gartner and
Forrester publications) and prepare executive summaries with key takeaways for DIRECTV
management consideration. This student's declared major or educational background should be
Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business
Administration or Management. We are looking for Junior or senior level candidates with a GPA of
3.0 or higher. Ideal candidates must be Enthusiastic and self-motivated. You must have superior
written, verbal, and presentation skills. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Products
(PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus. Apply online at
