Attendance
Attendance at the meetings is important; however, if your child has a legitimate conflict
(like a basketball game), a note from a coach will excuse him/her and the absence will
not be counted against him/her. Students must attend 70% of scheduled Club
meetings.
Club Sponsored Service Projects
Participation in the school wide service projects is critical to the success of the Beta Club
program. Fliers are made by the students and placed around the school for Dare to Care in the
fall and other projects in the spring. Other Projects that we are considering are the Jump for
Heart, Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Walk, House of Ruth, and others as are presented to
us.
Service Hours
Students must complete 25 hours of service on their own. There is a form for students to
have signed by the individual who is overseeing the service. Parent signatures are not
allowed. Students may pick up service logs from me in room 217 or from the front office. It
is helpful for students to turn in what hours that they have earned every 12 weeks or after
any school break so that their log is not lost or misplaced. Our club Vice President of
Membership, Ava Noe, will tabulate and record student hours for the entire academic year.
We will accept summer service hours with dates of June 1, 2018 or later (turn in with your
membership enrollment packet).
Parent Volunteers
One last little thing, we need parents that would be willing to attend meetings after school.
Not only will this give you a chance to work with your child; but, also to help with this very
worthy cause.
Induction Ceremony
