CONGLOMERATE COMPANIES

 DISNEY’S SUBSIDIARIES

Disney are a massive media brand who started producing animations for the
cinema in 1923, they run all sorts of media for example they run ABC, Disney
channel, freeform and ESPN as TV programs. They also run a bunch of theme
parks inside of Disneyworld and Disneyland Paris. Some of there studio
entertainment includes Lucasfilms, Marvel Studios, Pixar, Fox, Sky, Hulu. In 2014
Disney had a revenue of $48 billion dollars.
COMCAST SUBSIDIARIES

Comcast was started on 28th June 1963 and has gone from one of the
50 main companies in media to being one of the major 6 that runs media
in the US. Comcast has plenty of Subsidiaries such as universal studios,
Illumination Entertainment, Working Title, NBC, USA Network, Syfy,
Esquire Network, 32% of Hulu and The weather channel and
DreamWorks animations. In 2014 Comcast had a revenue of $69 billion
dollars.
TIME WARNER

Time Warner began on 10th January 1990 and is now one of the
major 6 media companies in America. Warner Media, LLC, doing
business as Warner Media, is an American multinational mass media
and entertainment conglomerate owned by AT&T and headquartered
in New York City. The company has film, television, cable networks, and
publishing operations. Some of Time Warner's major subsidiary
networks include; New line cinema, Castle Rock, Picture house, CNN,
TNT, Cartoon Network, NBA.com and NCAA.com.
 VIACOM

Viacom were first founded on 3 May 1971 and since then it has become
one of the major 6 media companies in the US with such major
subsidiary's as; Paramount, MTV, CMT, BET, Spike, Comedy Central and
Nickelodeon. In 2014 Viacom had a revenue of $15 billion Dollars.
CBS

CBS was first founded on 18th September 1927 and has now become one of the
top 6 major media companies in America with most of its subsidiaries having CBS in
the title such as: CBS Television, CBS Entertainment, CBS News, CBS Sport, CBS
Television Stations, The CW, and Showtime. In 2014 CBS had a total revenue of
$15 billion dollars.
 GOOGLE

Google was first founded on 4th September 1998, it is now paired up with
Alphabet Inc. and between the two they made a revenue of $82 billion dollars in
2016 and some of the subsidiaries
 21ST CENTURY FOX

21st Century Fox was first founded on 28th June 2013 and is one of the major 6 US
Media companies. Some of 21st century foxes subsidiaries include a 39% share in
sky, a 30% share in Hulu, 20th Century fox, Fox networks group and some movie
franchises such as X-men and Avatar. In 2016 21st century fox had a revenue of
$32.1 billion dollars.
 SONY ENTERTAINMENT

Sony entertainment was founded in 2012. In 2016 it had a revenue of $25.9 billion
dollars. Some of Sony entertainments subsidiaries include:
BBC

The BBC were founded on 18th October 1922. Most of the BBC’S subsidiaries are tv
channels such as: BBC One, BBC Two, CBBC, CBEEBIES and BBC Parliament. In 2016
BBC had a revenue of £4.1 billion Pounds.
 FACEBOOK INC.

Facebook were founded by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004. Facebook have a range o

subsidiaries including Oculus, Instagram and Anavo. In 2016 Facebook had a
revenue of $25.0 billion dollars
