1 HOW GREAT THOU ART

Doh is A
1. O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the works Thy hands hath made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy pow’r throughout the universe displayed !

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,

How great Thou art, How great Thou art;
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.

2. When through the woods and forest glades I wander,

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

3. And when I think that God His Son not sparing,

Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in.
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin !

4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation,

And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art.

2 WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

Doh is E

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear !
What a privilege to carry,
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear;
All because we do not carry,
Everything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness-
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy-laden,

Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge-
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despite, forsake thee ?
Take it to the Lord in prayer ;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

3 WHEN THE TRUMPET

Doh is E/F

1. When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound,

And time shall be no more;
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair,
When the saved of earth shall gather,
Over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

When the roll is called up yonder,

When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

2. On that bright and cloudless morning,

When the dead in Christ shall rise;
And the glory of His resurrection share,
When His chosen ones shall gather
To their home beyond the skies;
And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

3. Let us labour for the Master

From the dawn till setting sun;
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over,
And our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

4 COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

Doh is Eb

1. When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,

When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one;

Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev'ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,

Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

4. So, amid the conflict, whether great or small,

Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

Doh is G
1. God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus,
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Saviour lives.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth a living
Just because He lives.
6 CENTENARY SCHOOL : DAWRPUI CHURCH

2. How sweet to hold a new-born baby,

And feel the pride and joy He gives;
But greater still the calm assurance,
The child can face uncertain days because He lives.

3. And then one day I’ll cross that river,

I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then as death gives way to vict’ry,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives.

Loving kindness as the flood,
When the Prince of life, our ransom

He can never be forgotten
Throughout heaven’s eternal days.

2. On the Mount of Crucifixion

Fountains opened deep and wide ;
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.

Kissed a guilty world in love.

Through all eternity.

2. Crown Him the Lord of Life,

Who triumphed o’er the grave
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save:

Who died eternal life to bring
And lives that death may die.
CENTENARY SCHOOL : DAWRPUI CHURCH 21

Throughout eternity.

31 THE LOVE OF GOD

Doh is Eb
1. The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell,
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win,
His erring child, He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.
The love of God, how rich and pure
How measureless and strong:
It shall forevermore endure
The saints and angels' song.
2. Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry,
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Tho' stretched from sky to sky

Will the toils of life repay.

Doh is E (Partin vulna)

1. I am going to a city
Where the streets with gold are laid,

Soon their beauty is decayed ;
I am going to a city,
Where the roses never fade.

Satan’s snares we must evade ;
We’ll be free from all temptations,

Doh is Bb (Thlêmnaah lût suh la)

He is willing to aid you,
He will carry you through.

Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true;
Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through.

Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down;
He who is our Savior, our strength will renew;
Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through.

Put His loving arms around you,
God be with you till we meet again.

4. God be with you till we meet again,

Keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
Smite death’s threat’ning wave before you,
God be with you till we meet again.

37 IF WE NEVER MEET AGAIN

Doh is D/E

Soon we’ll come to the end of life’s journey,

And perhaps we’ll never meet anymore;
Till we gather in Heaven’s bright city,
Far away on that beautiful shore;

If we never meet again this side of Heaven,

As we travel thro’ this world and its strive;
There’s another meeting place up there in Heaven,
By the side of the river of life.

Where the charming roses blooms forever,

And where separation comes no more;
If we never meet again this side of Heaven,
I will meet you on that beautiful shore.
