Freshman Biography/Profile or Feature Article Assignment

Write a biography/profile about yourself as a senior at Grant. What will you have accomplished or done that will be
noteworthy? Model your biography/profile after one of the samples from the Grantonian that you read. Include a
photo, drawing, or illustration that captures some major aspect of your profile. (Or, create a frame or border for your
profile that reflects some aspect of you.) Make sure to use vivid language and strong verbs.

“A” Level:
Write a feature article about yourself as a senior at Grant. What will you accomplish that warrants a feature article
about you? What will you be renowned for? Make sure to use vivid language, strong verbs, and provide “hooks” for
the reader. Language, punctuation, grammar, and voice are excellent and used correctly almost all of the time.
Include a photo, drawing or article that reflects some aspect of you.) LENGTH: 500 words, typed, SINGLE
SPACED, 12 point font. Use newspaper column format if possible.

“B” Level:
Same as “A” level, but this might lack the excellence of the “A” level requirements. LENGTH: Between 300-400
words, typed, SINGLE SPACED, 12 point font. Use newspaper column format if possible.

“C” Level:
Not a “feature article,” but is a short biography/profile. Language, punctuation, grammar, and voice are
adequate/proficient but not excellent and are used correctly almost all of the time. LENGTH: At least 300 words
(about ½ page single spaced, 12 inch font) in length, SINGLE SPACED, 12 point font, typed.
