Objetivo: Este segmento del curso de Inglés Prefacultativo tiene como propósito desarrollar las
habilidades lectoras y analíticas de los estudiantes para realizar lecturas críticas de diversos textos
poéticos.

Metodología: Cada clase, se le pedirá al grupo que prepare la lectura de los poemas con
anticipación en casa para compartir sus interpretaciones en el salón. Posteriormente, se analizará
el poema en conjunto en la modalidad “close reading”. Además, nos apoyaremos en textos
críticos y teóricos para motivar la reflexión y discusión alrededor de conceptos clave para el
análisis de este género literario. Por lo tanto, el curso estará dividido en 4 ejes temáticos
relacionados directamente con dichos conceptos.

Todos los textos utilizados durante el curso, además de la bibliografía complementaria, estarán
disponibles en Dropbox o en línea. Los alumnos están obligados a imprimir o transcribir los
textos, leerlos previamente y llevarlos a clase.

Los alumnos deberán contar con un diccionario Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary o similar para
responder sus dudas de vocabulario.

No se tolerará el plagio. De ser detectado, esto implicará una calificación reprobatoria en el

curso.

Evaluación:

Es necesario asistir a por lo menos el 85% de las clases para poder aprobar el curso.

Los alumnos entregarán comentarios breves (1 a 3 párrafos escritos a mano, con tinta negra o
azul, en hojas tamaño carta sin espiral) al final de cada eje temático (3 en total), y presentarán un
examen final, en el que habrán de responder preguntas relacionadas con los temas analizados a
lo largo del curso.

Los porcentajes para cada rubro evaluado se contabilizarán de la siguiente manera: Comentarios
parciales: 50%, Examen final: 30%, Participación: 20%.
