RESUMEN

El presente estudio de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo correlacional de corte

transversal se realizó en el Servicio de Emergencia del Hospital Distrital de Laredo
2016, con el propósito de determinar la relación existente del conocimiento y
práctica de bioseguridad del personal de enfermería. El universo muestral estuvo
conformada por 33 personal de enfermería que cumplieron los criterios de
inclusión de la investigación. Se aplicó dos cuestionarios validados y confiables:
“Nivel de conocimientos sobre Medidas de Bioseguridad” y “Prácticas sobre
medidas de bioseguridad” para recolectar datos.

Los resultados fueron procesados, analizados y presentados en tablas estadísticas

utilizando los programas SPSS Version 23. Para el análisis estadístico se aplicó la
prueba de indicadores de criterios “chi cuadrado”.
Se llegó a las siguientes conclusiones: el 84.85% del personal de enfermería presento
un nivel de conocimiento alto sobre bioseguridad y el 15.15% un nivel de
conocimiento medio. En relación a las prácticas de bioseguridad, el 66.67% del
personal de enfermería presentaron buena práctica de bioseguridad y el 33.33%
mala práctica de bioseguridad. Existe relación significativa entre el nivel de
conocimiento y prácticas de bioseguridad con significancia estadística de
(p<0.05).

ABSTRACT

The present study of quantitative, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional type

was carried out in the Emergency Service of the District Hospital of Laredo 2016,
with the purpose of determining the existing relationship of the knowledge and
biosafety practice of the nursing personnel. The sample universe consisted of 33
nurses who met the inclusion criteria of the research. Two validated and reliable
questionnaires were applied: "Level of knowledge on Biosafety Measures" and
"Practices on biosafety measures" to collect data.
The results were processed, analyzed and presented in statistical tables using the SPSS
Version 23 programs. For the statistical analysis, the "chi square" criteria
indicators test was applied. The following conclusions were reached: 84.85% of
the nursing staff presented a high level of knowledge about biosafety and 15.15%
an average level of knowledge. In relation to biosecurity practices, 66.67% of
nurses presented good biosafety practices and 33.33% biosecurity practices.
There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and biosafety
practices with statistical significance of (p <0.05).
