Energy Summit Poster Project

Your study of energy resources will be largely done without me getting in the way of your learning process. In
this unit you have to be able to answer some basic questions:
 What energy resources are available right now and in the near future to society?
 What are the advantages/challenges of different energy resources? (compare one renewable to one non-
renewable)
 What are the factors that influence which energy sources are used by different societies?

Your assignment is to create a poster that will compare and contrast two different sources of energy that
humans use (one renewable vs. one non-renewable). Be able to explain how each energy source works. Discuss
the factors which affect why different societies would choose different energy sources. You will be evaluated
on the content and neatness of your poster!!

6. What specific countries use this energy source? Are these most commonly used in MEDC 
or LEDC countries? 

7. What advances in technology are being pursued for use of this energy source? What does 
the future hold for this energy source? What does the future use and availability look like?
8. What factors affect the choice of energy sources by different societies? (availability, 
economic, cultural, environmental, technological). Why would countries choose to use this 
source or not use this source?
