SUBJECT : Situation Report No. 2 Tropical Storm “OMPONG”

I. SITUATION OVERVIEW:

 As of 4:00 am today, Typhoon “Ompong” is now in the vicinity of Baggao,


Cagayan and is heading towards Apayao and Ilocos Norte.

II. LOGISTICAL SUPPORT:

 Prepositioned Logistics

A total of PhP 26,292,929.20 amount of logistics were prepositioned by DOH Regional


Offices. Moreover, PhP 38,170,519.00 amount of logistics is available in the DOH
Central Office.

 Mobilized Logistics

A total of Php 6,112,580 amount of logistics were augmented by the DOH Central
Office to Regions I, II, III and CAR.

III. Health Human Resource

A total of 34 Health Emergency Response Teams (HERTs) are stationed in Regions I, II, III,
IV-A, IV-B, V, VI, VII, IX, CAR, and NCR. Moreover, HEMB deployed 2 teams to
participate in the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) and National
Incident Management Team (N-IMT) at Clark, Pampanga.

IV. ACTIONS TAKEN:

DOH Central Office

 HEMB Director attended the presscon in NDRRMC relative to the update on Typhoon
“Ompong”
 DOH-HEMB is now preparing the additional medical and WASH teams to be deployed
in Region II
 Facilitates additional medicines to be augmented to affected regions particularly RO II
 Deployed HEMB Staff to go on 24-hour duty at the NDRRMC Operations Center.
 Continuously coordinating with the regional offices and attached agencies for any untoward
incident and update on possible response action
 Continuously monitoring weather updates through PAGASA Website
 Sec. Francisco T. Duque III, Usec. Gerardo V. Bayugo and Dir. Gloria Balboa attended the
NDRRMC Briefing for President at NDRRMC, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City
 Provided doxycycline to the Search Rescue and Retrieval Team (SRR) of National Incident
Management Team.
DOH Regional Offices

 Rapid Health Assessment Teams are going around assessing damages of health
facilities and determining the health needs in the ECs.
 RO II reported 2 buildings severely damaged including equipment and documents.
 RO II deployed 2 HERTs to Baggao
 DOH NCRO coordinated with LGUs for updates on the status of their respective areas
of jurisdiction
 PDOH NCRO provided doxycycline to exposed individuals and monitored the WASH
needs of the evacuees
 Conducted emergency purchase of supplies and goods to be used by ERTs in RO III
and organized additional 50-100% of manpower to act as standby emergency medical
teams
 Three (3) disaster management medical teams are on standby in Ilocos Sur for possible
deployment in evacuation areas
 Continuous coordination with Provincial DOH Offices (PDOHO), Provincial Health Offices
(PHOs), Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), Regional and Local Disaster Risk Reduction
Management Councils.
 Activated Surveillance in Post Extreme Emergencies and Disasters (SPEED) in Region II
