BACKGROUND
Caribbean Dockyard And Engineering Services Limited
(CDESL) is a leading Port Facility with Ship/Drilling Rig
Repair, Refurbishment, Fabrication and Engineering
Capabilities, ideally located on the Western Coast of
Trinidad in the Western Hemisphere. The facility has been
operating for over 100 years at this location.
Situated on 26 acres, our company boasts excellent
facilities and full professional support to service the needs
of any Client. Our strategic location affords clients access
to natural deep water berths within our sheltered cove as
well as a Shipyard that is well equipped for the conduct of
all ship/rig repairs, replete with a 230 metre floating
drydock supported by engineering and fabrication
facilities (complete with inside and outside fabrication
areas).
CDESL has a prime waterfront location in a major
geographic shipping area, thus providing marine support

facilities that cater for the needs of domestic and
international owners who require their vessels/rigs to be
dry/wet docked in Trinidad & Tobago (including Marine
Transportation Support Services and Supply Shore Base
Logistics Services associated with the Energy Sector).
CDESL is an ideally situated Port facility with
considerable capacity within the Caribbean Sea / Western
Hemisphere, providing a full range of services including
inter alia:

We are a certified Port Facility and abide by the rules of the ISPS Code. However
as mandated, we work closely with the Trinidad & Tobago Coast Guard, Marine
Ship Safety and Port Facility Security Unit and with all other relevant authorities
and regulatory bodies.

CDESL is committed to ensure the protection of the Environment and to this extent
we have had our Port Facility inspected and Certified under the Environmental
Management Act Chapter 35:05 of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
CDESL business activities continue around-the-clock to meet all deadlines.
Depending on the project and the time frame, our work force will be on duty
working 2 x 12 hour shifts and/or 3 x 8 hour shifts.

Supported by these services CDESL is able to provide our Clients

with a wide range of related services promptly and under critical
time constraints.
CDESL is located at Port Chaguaramas in the north western
peninsula of the island of Trinidad. Latitude 10° 40’ 37” North and
Longitude 61° 38’ 45” West, just 8 miles off the northwestern
coast of South America. It is 6 miles or 20mins driving from Port
of Spain, 16 miles from Trinidad's International Airport (Piarco
International).
CDESL is located in the sheltered, leeward side of the island,
occupying 26 acres with 500 meters of excellent sea frontage with
water depths from 9 meters to 20 meters alongside berths;
approach to our facility is via open waters with water depths
exceeding 40 meters.
CDESL’s Facility is located within 5/15mins walking distance to
various Hotels and Restaurants within the Chaguaramas area
which are constantly patrolled by the Chaguaramas Development

Trinidad's strategic location with respect to shipping traffic and
Energy related fabrication projects has placed CDESL in a leading
position in the ship repair and Energy related fabrication business
and has provided services for Rig Owners since 2000.
