B – Spatula J – 500 mL Erlenmeyer Flask
C – 250 mL Beaker K – Burette
D – Graduated Cylinder L – Iron Stand
E – Volumetric Flask 1 – 200 g sand and 20 g C6H5COOH
F – 100 mL Beaker 2 – Distilled Water
G – Dropper 3 – Phenolphthalein Indicator
H – Glass Rod 4 – 1M NaOH Titrant
B. Procedures

Step 1: Preparation of Stock Solution (1L of 1M NaOH)

NaOH H2O

Step 2: Weigh 200g sand and 20g C6H5COOH in a beaker

C6H5COOH sand

Step 3: Add 200 mL of distilled water and mix for about 10 minutes

200 mL H2O
Step 4: After settling time, decant clear solution and note the volume

Step 5: Analyze the decanted solution for C6H5COOH

Step 6: Is the concentration of C6H5COOH in decanted solution remains constant?

(if no, repeat step 3-step 5; if yes, end of procedure)
