This RQ can be broken down into
1. How is the political ideology developed in the
novel?
2. How is feminism developed in the novel?
3. How is feodalism developed in the novel?
RO: The objective of this study is to explain the ways
in which ideologies are implied in Steinback’s “Grapes
of Wrath” which can be elaborated into the following.
1. The first objective is to explain the way in which
political ideology is developed in the novel.
2. The second objective is to explain the way in
which feminism is developed in the novel.
3. The third objective is to explain the way in which
feodalism is developed in the novel.

The answer to the research question (1) is beneficial
for other researchers in that it will provide knowlege
about political ideology (apa?) developed in the novel.
It will also be beneficial for students of literature in
that it will show them how political ideology is
developed in the novel. In addition, the answer to this

Research Methodology
1. Subject and Object of the Study
The subject of this study is Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath.

The object of this study is ideologies contained in the novel.
It can be assumed that there are three main ideologies in the
novel, i.e. political ideology, feminism, and feodalism
(uraikan masing-masing)
2. Roles of the Researcher
Conceptor/designer/planner, preparing instrument, collecting
data, analysing data, reporting the research results,
presenting the results in a seminar (ujian skripsi), preparing
a research article.
3. Research Instruments
Observation, interview, questionnaire, test/assessment,
documentary study (pilih yang relevan)
This research will make use of a documentary/library study.
Books, research articles and other materials will be studied
to answer the three research questions.
