Content Standard 3.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to form letters and words in neat legible print
including cursive writing.

Learning Standard 3.1.1 Able to write in neat legible print with correct spelling:
(a) words
(b) phrases
(c) simple sentences

Objectives By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:


(i) write the important messages in the invitation card.
(ii) write simple sentences based on the guidance.

Set induction 1. Teacher shows a few pictures related to party on TA: Powerpoint slides
( 5 minutes) powerpoint slides.
2. Pupils look at the pictures attentively.
3. Teacher asks a few questions based on the pictures.
4. Pupils respond to teacher’s questions.
5. Teacher links this to the topic to be learned.

1. What have you seen from the powerpoint slides?
2. When do we use those things? For a party?

Pre-writing 1. Teacher asks the pupils about what kinds of party TA: Powerpoint slides
they like to go to.
(10 minutes)
2. Pupils respond to teacher’s questions.
3. Pupils vote the party that they like the most.
4. Teacher choose the party that had the highest number
of votes.
5. Teacher explains to the pupils about the important
messages that they need to write inside the invitation
card.
4. Pupils listen to the teachers.

Writing 1. Teacher divides the pupils into 5 groups. TA: Examples of invitation card, color papers
(15 minutes) 2. Pupils are required to do their own invitation card in
groups.
3. Pupils need to design an invitation card to invite their
teachers to the party.

4. Pupils are required to carry on a gallery walk activity
by pasting their invitation card on the wall. MI: Interpersonal, visual spatial

4. Teacher checks the invitation card.

Publishing 1. Teacher introduces the next activity to the pupils. Teaching Aids: Powerpoint slides, worksheet

3. Teacher teaches the pupils on how to write the simple
sentences with the guidance.
4. Pupils refer to the examples given by teacher and try
to write by their own.
