While adopting the contours of the original building the

extension assumes an abstract shape owing to the same
material being used on roofs and elevations, in this case
fibre cement panels.
The vertical joints between the fibre cement panels are
staggered; yet horizontal joints are continuous, even
around corners.

Ever since Willy Guhl designed his legendary 1 2 3 4

known that fibre cement is a material suited
to create all sorts of shapes, owing to it being
highly workable during the production phase
and stable once dried and hardened. Again and
again the material has encouraged people to
experiment with shapes well beyond the plain
or corrugated standard panels for façade clad-
dings and roofing, as these inspiring creations
illustrate.
