• walking with his friends in fields, enjoying the birds and

- The children are invited to discuss these with their peers or as a
class discussion with the teacher.

Lesson Steps (Lesson content, structure, strategies & Key Questions):

- The children are to complete a two-part picture. Paper and Coloured pens
- In one part, they draw themselves enjoying life by helping
someone.
- In the other part, they draw Jesus enjoying experiences of life by
doing good and making others happy.
- Talk about how Jesus may have enjoyed doing many of the things
we do. A class book could be compiled.
- A suggested title is: ‘We Enjoy Life, Jesus Enjoyed Life’.
- Teacher getting children to think about how Jesus…
• freed people of sin and the influence of the evil one
• brought people to share in God’s own divine life
• revealed God’s love and closeness
• modelled how to live in a truly human way in response to
that love.

- To close the lesson for the children read the book (Jesus Talked To
Me Today, By James Stewart Bell)
- Children will discuss when they have spoken to Jesus or how they
speak to Jesus.

- Once the teacher is happy and all the students have shown they
have achieved the objectives they can transition to the next
lesson.
 “I hope everyone enjoyed our religion lesson today learning about the
gift of life. We are going to all go back to our desks now for the next
activity. When I call your group would you please return to your
desk…(Call groups one by one)”

“How can we follow what Jesus did in the way we wait and move back
to our desks?”

- When all children are ready, praise them for their actions and
move onto the next lesson.

Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will they be assessed?) Assessment notes
- Anecdotal notes and observations will be used to assess the
participation in the activity.
- Relating it to the Sacrament of Baptism.
- Also the children’s work sample/ their finished drawing
