Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

The PowerPoint incorporated in this lesson aides visual learners because it shows pictures of the
amounts that students will be multiplying. The .MP4 version is useful to students who lean more
towards audio learners. In addition, having it in PowerPoint form makes it possible to view it from
different devices at school or at home.

Lesson idea implementation:

Students will take a pre-test to assess their comfort and knowledge on numbers multiplied by
themselves. Throughout the unit, the related PowerPoint will be used to review with students on
these specific times tables. They can also be accessed on classroom computers/tablets for students to
review in their free time in class. If students want to review at home, the PowerPoint can also be
accessed on personal devices outside of the classroom.

Students will be asked to create their own similar PowerPoints based off of their pre-test results, but
they will only have to create slides for the numbers they are having the hardest time with, so they can
review it on their own time before tests. This way, each student will have, essentially, individualized
digital flash cards to study with.

Reflective Practice:

This particular lesson could be improved by perhaps having students create their own quizzes and
either quiz themselves or quiz each other. It could also be used for all their times tables that they are
having trouble with, rather than just numbers multiplied by themselves.
