The branch of number theory with the basic aim of studying properties of
algebraic integers in algebraic number fields of finite degree over the field of
numbers lie in algebraic structures with many similar properties to those of the integers.

mathematics which is a cross between combinatorics and number theory. More precisely,
the area concerns structures of integers (or similar sets), with some number theoretic
properties, which can be studied mainly by combinatorial means, rather than, for
uses real and complex analysis to investigate various properties of integers and prime
numbers. Examples of topics falling under analytic number theory include Dirichlet L-
series, the Riemann zeta function , the totient function , and the prime number
theorem. (http://mathworld.wolfram.com)
Computational Number Theory
finding and implementing efficient computer algorithms for solving various problems in
number theory. Much progress has been made in this field in recent years, both in terms
of improved computer speed and in terms of finding more efficient algorithms. Two
important applications of computational number theory are primality testing and prime
