Sri Navratri Pooja Vidhi


(Begins on – Ashvin Suddh Pratiprada)

Take water in a container, add pinch of haldi, kumkum, UDI, and sprinkle in the house (all rooms
including your mandir or alter area.
In front of the mandir, on the floor, place a wooden platform and make swastika ( ) on the platform in
the middle with haldi and kumkum. Place a copper dish on the swastika and add rice (must be pre
washed and dried), draw Prithvi Tatwa ( ) with haldi and kumkum on the rice. Wash all pratima’s,
first with panchamrut and than with warm water and dry them with cloth and place them on the rice in
the middle of the Prithvi Tatwa. (If you have only one pratima than place one and if you have all four,
place all four, few might have been given sai sak pratima for business when they came for counseling
than place that one too.). The final arrangement should look like the image below on the rice in the dish:
Now place flower on the pratima or pratima’s and on the flower
put rice, haldi and kumkum. Place your BIDA (2paan, $5.25,
Supari and one coconut) in front of the dish. Put haldi and
kumkum on the BIDA, show Agarbatti, Niranjan and put
PRASAD (milk, sugar and saffron), one dried half coconut filled
with raw brown sugar and sing one arati (hymn). After arati say
Manglacharan, Shakti peeth prayer, long prayer and 21 times
Maha Mantra.
Don’t forget to consume milk PRASAD after the pooja is
finished. Do not leave milk prasad all day otherwise it will go
bad.

1st day evening and rest of the nine evenings show Agarbatti,
Niranjan and put PRASAD (milk, sugar and saffron) and sing one Arati. On this 1st evening day the
entire family should consume the dried half coconut filled with raw brown sugar as PRASAD along with
milk PRASAD.

For next nine days (do this everyday in the morning) slowly remove the flower from the pratima’s. Take
the new fresh flower and dip it in the water and sprinkle water on the pratima’s and than put the flower
on the pratima and on the flower put rice, haldi and kumkum, show Agarbatti, Niranjan and put
PRASAD (milk, sugar and saffron).

REMEMBER; DO NOT DISTURB ANUSTHAN FOR NINE DAYS.

On the EIGHT day, after the morning pooja, take out $21.00 (FOR FOOD DONATION TO THE
PRIEST OR ANY MARRIED WOMEN) in front of the ANUSTHAN.

On the NINETH day, in the morning, slowly pick up all the pratima’s, wash them in panchamrut and
than with the plain water and place them back in the dish.

On the Tenth day (also known as Dasera or Vijayadashmi day) put GURU PRASAD or any holy book
(like BIBLE, GITA etc) or Seminar Book and a pen in your MANDIR. Don’t forget to do pooja of your
CAR. Collect car pooja from the centre.

On the Eleventh day (a day after Dasera or Vijayadashmi), please move the ANUSTHAN and wash all
the pratima’s (make them shiny again) and place them back to their original place in the MANDIR.
Also on this day all the family members should consume the coconut placed with the BIDA (on the first
day) as PRASAD. Rest of the BIDA (2paan, $5.25 and Supari) should be deposited at the centre. And the
$21.00 which was taken out on the 8th day, donate that money or food (equivalent of that money) to the
priest or a married women, and if you cant donate to the priest or to the married women you can simply
deposit that money at BABA’s feet at the centre.

ATTEND AARTI (HYMNS) IN NAVRATRI WITH THE FAMILY.

SAI SAK ERA will be moved forward on every Dasera or Vijayadashmi day
