The topic to be addressed in the present work is about basic equations for the
flow of fluids of porous media as a main issue if the flow of fluids in porous media
is very difficult to quantify, that is why assumptions are made about their flow
conditions to be able to represent its behavior in relatively simple functions taking
into account a continuous medium with which we will take into account the
number of Knudsen which will help us to determine if a material is considered as
fluid. In the conservation of matter we will specify the extensive and intensive
properties defining certain terms The Reynolds transport theorem covers the
need to establish the way in which properties behave in a continuous
environment, relating the extensive properties with the intensive properties and
the behavior of the system within a control volume. Giving rise to the conservation
of energy where it is related to the first law of thermodynamics, which states "the
total energy of an isolated system remains constant over time." Finally, the
fractional flow equations, deductions from the fractional flow equation and finally
the frontal advance equation are all mentioned in order to make the subject that
is being treated understandable.
