William Shakespeare, an English poet, used district techniques to make the words rhyme

and memorize the content. In a YouTube video elaborating why Shakespeare loved iambic

pentameter by David Freeman, the video describes the methods and methodology used by

Shakespeare to create rhythm in the poem.

He was famous for using stress in his poet. There are three types of stressing a poetic

line as shown in the video. All the sequences were aligned in the elegiac meter to form stressed

and unstressed syllables, to produce a rhythm. One of the methods used in the poetic meter in the

line was a dactyl, which is a long syllable followed by a short syllable. The second method used

by the poet was the trochee, a technique that consisted of one long or stressed syllable and then

was followed by a short or unstressed syllable. The third method shakes are used the lamb, which

was the reverse of trochee, a short syllable followed by a long syllable

The Iambic pentameter was all about sound and less pronunciation, and the line consisted

of five metric feet, composed of unstressed syllable and then followed by a stressed syllable.

These techniques helped Shakespeare in his poems, and it is also used today in literature and

theatre for learning purposes. William Shakespeare used the concept he could not forget in

memorizing the poetry. He used the ba-DUM, which is the sound of the heartbeat. The ba Dum

technique is similar to iambic pentameter rhyme. Example of iambic pentameter looks like the

ones provided below.
