Accelerating Network and Business Transformation
Executive Summary
This structural analysis report performed by Nexius Solutions, Inc. summarizes the
capacity of the existing street light pole to carry the additional equipment loading
proposed by Google to install at the above referenced location.
The analysis shows that the controlling reaction at the pole base is less than the
allowable pole capacity. Therefore, the existing street light pole is structurally
adequate and can safely support the additional wind load and gravity load resulting
from all the proposed Google equipment.

1) Site Information:
Basic site information of the analyzed street light pole is listed below:
Site ID #: KC_OP_010_OD
Address/Cross Street: 11149 W 95th Street
City, State, ZIP: Overland Park, KS 66214
County: Johnson County
Structural Type: Steel Pole with Four Shoebox Light Fixtures
Property owner: City of Overland Park
The purpose of this analysis is to evaluate the existing pole structural capacity to
support the additional loads resulting from the proposed Google installation.
The pole and loading information used to complete this analysis was obtained from
some of the following documents:

Primary design parameters determined according to above codes and standards are:
The following describes the proposed Google equipment loading on the existing pole:
Proposed Loading
Existing Loading
In addition to the existing pole structure and all applicable street lights and extension
arms, there are maybe other existing loads to consider which include sign panels, traffic
signals, banners, etc.

Accelerating Network and Business Transformation
The street light pole was analyzed in this calculation with the existing loading and the
proposed Google equipment loading.
The analysis shows that the combined bending and axial compression stresses at the
pole base are less than the allowable pole capacity. The analyzed street pole is
structurally adequate for the proposed Google installation.
• The accuracy of the proposed equipment loads listed in this report is the
responsibility of Google. This analysis was performed under the assumption that
all information provided to Nexius is current and accurate. If the proposed
equipment loads are different than those analyzed, this report should be
considered obsolete and further analysis will be required.
• It is the responsibility of the client and/or the structure owner to ensure that no
un-documented equipment is installed on the structure between now and the
construction phase. If additional equipment is installed on the structure, then this
report should be considered obsolete and further analysis will be required.
• This analysis assumes that the structural components, including all steel sections
and attachment hardware, are in good working condition, free of rust or other
forms of corrosion. Furthermore, it is assumed that the superstructure and the
foundation have been properly maintained and monitored since the original
installation. This report should be considered obsolete and further analysis will be
required if the structure and/or foundation does not meet all of the above criteria.
• Contractor shall field verify and measure all dimensions of the structure before
commencing construction.
• The superstructure and foundation are assumed for the purpose of this analysis to
have been properly fabricated, constructed, well maintained and to be in good
condition with no structural defects beyond those stated in the above mentioned
inspection report.
