SPEAKING WITH AUDIO LINGUAL METHOD

Course Description:
This model is used to trigger student development in speaking by using lingual audio method.
by displaying some images that will be presented by the students themselves.

Objective:
This lesson plan will ultimately provide an understanding of how to use this method or
conduct group discussions and apply them in everyday life.

Activities:
In this planning, students are required to communicate with other students and perform
lingual audio techniques by retelling what they understand through the media provided.

Assessment:
As for some assessment structures in accordance with the evaluation of students which
consists of several important things are:
 Attendance: 15%
 Assignments and activities: 50%
 Middle test: 20%
 Final test: 20%

LESSON PLAN

Grade : S1
Subject : Speaking With Audio Lingual Method
Topic : Retelling Picture
Semester : VIII
Faculty/Department : Letters and Philosophy / English Language
Time Allotment : 45 minutes

Standard of Competence : Can understand how to convey a message obtained from what
is observed by using the object image in the form of
individuals or groups in a class.
Basic Competence : Can understand how to express when retelling what is
observed.

Motivating Strategies

a. Teacher shows the picture


b. Teacher gives some questions about the picture, such as:
 What do you see on the picture?
 What are they doing?

I. Presentation
a. Teacher conveys the objective lesson: Today, we are going to learn about
introducing one to another.
b. Teacher distributes the sample dialogue to students.
Example:

Dino : Hi, are you a new students?

Nadin : Yes, I am, by the way, are you a new student too?

Dino : Yes, I am, my name is Adib.

Nadin : I'm Nadin, nice to meet you.

Dino : Nice to meet you too. Anyway, which Senior High School do you from?

Nadin : I’m from SMA Mandala. How about you?

Dino : I’m from SMA Kartini. By the way, we still have half an hour before the
class starts, shall we go to the canteen?

Nadin : Okay.

c. Teacher reads the dialogue loudly.


d. Teacher asks the students to repeat the dialogue after the teacher.
e. Teacher explains the dialogue to the students.
f. Teacher writes the expressions on the board.

Expressions Responses

 Nice to meet you  Nice to meet you, too
 How are you?  Fine, thanks
 See you  See you
 Bye  Bye

g. Teacher reads the expressions loudly and asks the students to repeat the
expressions after the teacher.
h. Teacher explains the expressions to the students.

II. Summing Up
Teacher sums up the lesson by asking questions.

1. Have you ever met someone that you didn’t know before?
2. How do you introduce yourself to him/her?

III. Skill Practice


Teacher asks the students to do the closed test about introducing one to another.

Teacher asks the students to make a pair and do one of the situations below.

1. You introduce yourself to a new neighbor and ask him/her to come to your house.

3. You introduce yourself to a new English teacher in the classroom.
