Definition of Infrastructure
• Infrastructure is the basic physical systems of a business
or nation; transportation, communication, sewage, water
and electric systems are all examples of infrastructure.
These systems tend to be high-cost investments;
however, they are vital to a country's economic
development and prosperity.
Infrastructure Development
Infrastructure Development involves fundamental
structures that are required for the functioning of a
community and society. This is usually referred to
structures like roads, water supply, sewers, electrical
grids, telecommunications, renewable energy, water
sources identification and boring (wells), purification
systems for clean water, hazard waste management
and so on.

Structural Engineering:
Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering?
Architectural Engineering
considers all aspects of
designing buildings
Civil Engineering considers the structural If your career will focus only on buildings,
design of more than buildings: e.g., Architectural Engineering is likely the
buildings, bridges, dams, electrical and better choice. If you career will focus on
communication towers, port facilities, designs other than building, Civil
retaining walls, subways, etc. Engineering is the better choice.
