MODULE DESCRIPTION

• Module objective This module is designed to prepare the participant to locate and identify the
function of all major components of the electrical system. A lab exercise will be
used for skill development and a post-assessment will test the participant’s
knowledge.

• Competency statement At the completion of this module, the participants will be required to successfully
complete a lab exercise and post-assessment.

• Classroom/lab ratio This module includes 40% theory (classroom) and 60% practical (lab).

• Audience Level II--field service personnel, resident mechanics, technical communicators,

shop technicians and customers. All participants should have at least three years of
field or shop experience with hydraulic systems.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• Module learning outcome This R1600H Underground Loader Electrical System module is designed to
prepare the participant to identify the components and demonstrate knowledge of
the electrical system in order to diagnose and repair the electrical system.

• Visual presentation Participants take notes on the location and function of the electrical system
components during a visual presentation.

• Lab 1 Given the appropriate reference material and the Lab 1 Worksheets, participants
will be able to locate, identify, and explain the functionality of the electrical system
components during a lab exercise. Participants will also identify the schematic grid
location and machine location on the Lab 1 Worksheets.

• Post-Assessment Given all reference material and class notes, participant will be able to identify the
function of the electrical system components during a post-assessment.
