Scarred by the Sun Alexander McQueen By Katy Charles

SHOCKING WITH DESIGN AND DEATH
By Katy Charles
After sophomore Katie Terry discovered a
cancerous spot on her foot, her view of skin
care and sun protection changed.
She had the spot since she was a little girl.
“My parents considered it a birth mark,”
she said. But last summer, Terry noticed
that the mark had changed shape and color,
so she went to the dermatologist to have it
removed.
A biopsy showed that the spot was cancerous
– stage one melanoma.
