Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Rules and requirements to include the internship in the Master of Science Study plan:

1. The formative credits (CFU) obtained in the internship are 12, equivalent to 300 hours

2. Before including the internship in the Study plan, the student have to meet the requirement of 48
CFU acquired. The internship can begin at any time of the year

3. The internship can replace two free ECTS credits courses

4. The student who acquired a free ECTS credits course and then add the internship, will earn the
degree with 126 CFU

5. Internship proposals are available in the Portale della Didattica web page

6. If a company offers an internship but the company haven’t an agreement with Politecnico di
Torino, visit the Stage&Job site: http://stagejob.polito.it/studenti/tirocini_curriculari

7. Students can include the internship only after authorization by Prof. Stefano Tornincasa
(stefano.tornincasa @polito.it), professor in charge for internships

8. To obtain the authorization, needed requirements are:

• 48 CFU acquired;
• The hosting company have to send an email to Prof. Stefano Tornincasa indicating the
period of the internship and the availability to host the student;
• The student have to identify an academic tutor within professors of the courses of Master
of Science in Mechanical Engineering ;
• The student have to send an email to Prof. Stefano Tornincasa to communicate the code
and the title of the free ECTS credit course replaced by the internship.

10. At the end of the internship, it is required to:

• Bring the filled documents (signature sheet…) to Stage&Job office;
• Write a short report (7-10 pages) on the performed task. The report has to be approved by
both company tutor and tutor of Politecnico di Torino;
• Make sure that the tutor of Politecnico di Torino sends to Prof. Stefano Tornincasa
(stefano.tornincasa@polito.it), professor in charge for internships registration, a
confirmation email to communicate the internship. The email should include the student
identification number and the internship code.

11. When the Prof. Stefano Tornincasa will receive the email, he will register the internship
