The need for trained manpower or skill development for the raffia industry has
been highlighted in various forums from time to time. To cater to the imperative
need of formal training, this centre has been set up to train and produce operators,
supervisors / production executives for the raffia industry. Thus, to improve the
technical competence of employed manpower, LCL has taken an initiative to
establish the Technical Training and Research Centre (TTRC) at Kanpur. The
notion of the ‘Technical Training Centre’ has evolved out of the LCL think-tank
to integrate ‘2Ms - Machinery & Manpower’ to exclusively support the global
raffia industry.

practical and 30% theory)

l Well developed academic facilities for conduct of theory and practical sessions on
technical facets of plastic woven sack / raffia industry.
l Dedicated residential campus with professional management set up.
l Library with rich collection of text, reference books and computer based training (CBT)
software.
l Workshop comprising of tape plant, circular looms, BCS for hands-on practical
training.
l Testing laboratory equipped with MFI, ash content tester, tensile testing, wrap reel
etc.
l Management and faculty trainers of TTRC are drawn from an experienced pool of
